Do you like being outdoors while advocating for voting rights? We have you covered!
We have two meetups scheduled in Hamburg and Bremen. These will be very relaxed events where people can run, walk, or simply enjoy the outdoors. People of all athletic abilities are welcome. One of our members will use this as part of her training for the Hamburg Marathon, where she will also be representing Democrats Abroad.
We know that marathons are not for everyone, but some of you run or walk recreationally. We have also heard some of our members express feelings of angst and loneliness when thinking about the political landscape that is unfolding in our homeland currently. One way to combat these feelings is to meet up and get the lead out! Some of our members have expressed interest in doing a group race activity such as a relay race or running in a race as a group. Democrats Abroad has running t-shirts for this purpose so we can run or walk collectively and promote our cause. We could also use these in a charitable virtual or hybrid event where people all over Germany can walk, run, bike, or use any form of movement they enjoy to be part of something bigger than themselves!
We would like to plan one or two events in the future, but before we get into the specifics, we want to gauge what types of events people would be interested in.
