2024 Global Presidential Primary in Hamburg and Bremen

GPP voters on the US map

As 15 states headed to the polls for Super Tuesday, Americans living in the Hamburg and Northern Germany Chapter came out on the weekend to vote in person for their presidential nominee of choice.

Starting at 12pm on Saturday, March 9th, a designated voting area as well as a merch and refreshment area welcomed voters and their friends and family in the Kurt-Schumacher-Haus in Hamburg. Though turnout was light, excitement was high. This energy continued into Sunday, March 10th, in Bremen as membership living in and around the Hanseatic city on the Weser turned out the vote.

Highlights on both days were the custom ballot boxes: for Hamburg the Elbphilharmonie, rendered faithfully in foamboard by member Vinnie Cabrera, and for Bremen, the city’s coat of arms and most famous residents, the Bremen City Musicians, designed and 3D-printed in eco plastic by chapter treasurer and the Bremen precinct captain, Jodi Szarko.

Many thanks to everyone who came out in person and all those who requested a ballot and voted from home!
