Rachel Berman is a high school student in Geneva and an illustrator, who started creating political cartoons when she was 11 years old.

I am fascinated by the different characters that make up the breadth of global political figures and have found an affinity for bringing out their comedic elements.

And Rachel seems to have found some inspiration by Democrats Abroad Switzerland. We are delighted that Rachel decided to share some of her illustrations with us.

Vote In the Global Presidential Primary

Global Presidential Primary

Democrats Abroad Have a Voice

Each presidential election cycle, Democrats Abroad holds a global primary, when U.S. citizens and registered Democrats all over the world can cast a ballot for the candidate to best represent our concerns.

There is nothing more important you can do as a Democrat living abroad than to vote in our Global Presidential Primary and to get as many others to do the same. The more votes we can register, the more strength Democrats Abroad can display, which in turn may lead to more support for our important efforts in the future.

Beginning Super Tuesday, March 1 until March 8, Democrats living abroad will be able to vote in a dedicated global primary to choose the party's candidate for the presidential election.

Based on our votes, Democrats Abroad will send 21 voting delegates to the Democratic Party Convention in Philadelphia.

The National Convention will be July 25-28 in Philadelphia, PA, at which time the Democratic candidate for the presidential election is chosen. And with your help, we will see the next Democratic President of the United States elected on November 8, 2016!

An Early 2016 State of the Union Address

"Mark your calendars: President Obama will deliver his final State of the Union address on Jan. 12"

It is an early date for the annual speech. "The White House recommended that date for a variety of reasons. The House was not scheduled to be in session the week after, ruling that one out. And holding it later seemed, from a White House standpoint, to be pushing it too close to the start of the presidential primary season, with the Iowa caucuses set for Feb. 1 and the New Hampshire primary on Feb. 9."

Save the Date

One member has already volunteered to host the SOTU Viewing Party in Geneva... mark your calendars for January 13, 2016 !

Thanksgiving in Geneva

This year, members and friends of Democrats Abroad Switzerland got together to celebrate Thanksgiving with our first Turkey Day Potluck dinner, at a private residence in Geneva. Along with the turkey, we dined on the side dishes and desserts brought by guests, representing special family traditions.

Let's hope this is the beginning of our own Swiss Thanksgiving tradition.

Democrats Abroad Switzerland is the official country committee for U.S. Democrats living in Switzerland.

We strive to help Americans connect with fellow citizens living across the 26 Cantons of the Swiss Federation and remain active in U.S. politics. Living in a unique nation of expats in which resident foreigners comprise 23% of the population, DA Switzerland provides a vital social and political link for American citizens staying for a short period as well as those here for the long term.

Our mission is to deliver critical votes for Democrats in U.S. federal elections as well as serving as unofficial U.S. ambassadors, communicating global perspectives to Washington D.C., to our hometowns, and our local Swiss communities.

Watch this space for upcoming announcements of meetings and events – we have events planned throughout the year and encourage anyone interested in participating to get in touch.

If you haven't already, join Democrats Abroad! If you're already a member, please consider signing up as a volunteer.

Feel free to reach out to us via email! You can find the email addresses for national leaders in this post; chapter leaders can be found on the Basel, Geneva, and Zurich pages.
