Vote in the DA Global Presidential Primary

DA Norway members participate in the Democrat Abroad Global Presidential Primary (GPP). The GPP allows us to put Americans living outside the U.S. on the map – literally. This is an opportunity to show that as Democrats, we Americans abroad are tuned in and voting from all around the globe, including Norway. The deadline to request an online ballot electronically is 9 pm March 12, Pacific Time. 

In addition to voting online, one has the opportunity to vote in person on Tuesday, March 5th  in Oslo & Stavanger at these locations:

Oslo: American Lutheran Congregation, Fritzners gate 15 from 3:30 pm until 7:30 pm.

NOTES:

Members can find their ID number on the Democrats Abroad website by logging into their account. Click on account settings under your image. Your ID number is listed there.

DA members can vote in their state primary as well, but you must not vote for the presidential candidate on your state ballot.

DAN Annual General Meeting:

Democrats Abroad Norway will hold its Annual general meeting on Wednesday, March 27, at 7 pm. At Bjørvika Library Anne-Cath, Vestlys plass 1, 0150 Oslo in the Nøklevann room on the lower level. The meeting will also be online. At the meeting, we will:

  • Review the minutes from the 2023 AGM
  • Review DAN activities in 2023 thru March 2024
  • Present the Treasures Report
  • Present ongoing plans for 2024
  • Appeal for Volunteers
  • Have questions & comments from members

There will be no changes in the DAN Bylaws in 2024. Elections for new ExCom members will be held in 2025.

Upcoming TAX Seminar:

There has been a large interest in the DA TAX seminars. We are having a Tax Information Event on  April, 11th at Bjørvika Library Anne-Cath, Vestlys plass 1, 0150 Oslo in the Disen room on the 4th floor.  The meeting will also be online. We are pleased to have a tax expert from KPMG in Oslo, Simona Vasile as our main speaker. She will cover reporting requirements, avoiding double taxation, streamlined filing, gift tax, FBAR, etc. There will be ample time for questions.
