Dialing for Democracy: Battleground State Call-a-Thon 2022
WHY ARE WE CALLING?
Our democracy is at stake this November. Votes from abroad - as mentioned in the Jan. 6th hearings - can hand Democrats much-needed victories to keep Congress, win two more Senate seats and more down ballot races.
We know that calling DA members is one of the most effective ways to mobilize voters.
Take action with us as we 'Dial for Democracy'
WHAT IS D4D?
MAKING CALLS
Dialing 4 Democracy is a 48-hour voter mobilization Call-a-thon. During the weekend of June 25-26, callers will contact Democrats Abroad members who vote in battleground states. Calling will start at 12:01am US Eastern on Saturday, June 25 and continue through 11:59pm US Eastern on Sunday, June 26. TOGETHER, we can reach thousands of voters!
AND/OR FINDING SPONSORS
D4D is also a fundraiser modeled on walk-a-thons, where callers find sponsors from their family, friends and colleagues. All funds raised will support DA's voter mobilization efforts, including the online phonebanking program.
You can make calls with or without sponsors or donate even if you don't make calls!

THE LONG SHADOW - Watch the film here!
Our Chapter hosted its first hybrid Event April 23rd in Aix en Provence
Director Frances Causey has graciously given us a permanent access to view her film
The Long Shadow follows former CNN Senior Producer, TED contributor, and Emmy-Award winning Director Frances Causey as she traces her family’s legacy of white supremacy and privilege, investigating her own ancestor—a Founding Father whose critical role in the creation of American laws kept slavery and later the Black Codes and Jim Crow—a core element of American society for centuries to come.
Director Frances Causey and Producer Sally Holst passionately seek the hidden truth and the untold stories of how the United States of America—guided by the South’s powerful, racist political influence—steadily, deliberately and at times secretly, established white supremacy and privilege in our institutions, laws, culture and economy.
Our nation’s shameful past continues to impact every aspect of American life today but particularly in the African-American community which continues to pay a heavy price in their heroic struggle for equality.

Demystifying the Democratic National Committee (DNC) - Afterwork with Democrats Abroad Western Sweden
You are invited to join Democrats Abroad-Western Sweden Chapter for our June afterwork. Like our recent afterworks, this one will be hybrid - in-person in Göteborg and online on WebEx.
In November 2020, we held our first DNC event ("Meet the DNC") with our Democrats Abroad members of the DNC, and it was a great success! Six DNC members attended, leading to excellent questions from the audience and spirited discussion.
For our June afterwork, we'll be continuing that conversation: Discussing the structure and function of the DNC while once again opening the bulk of the time to discussion.
Joining in-person? At John Scott's Linné, go up one flight, and look for the meeting room.
Joining online? RSVP for the WebEx link. If you have questions or difficulties connecting, contact Joel Parthemore (see contact info below or message on FB).
We look forward to seeing you in-person or online!
