Two Weeks To Go: Return Your Ballot & Help Us Fight For Every Last Overseas Vote

With just two weeks left until the November 8 midterm elections, it’s all hands on deck!

Must-win races across the United States remain too close for comfort, especially when you consider all that’s at stake – from a woman’s right to choose to gun safety to future election administration, notably who will be in office in 2024 to certify presidential election results.

Critical races could very well be decided by just a handful of votes – and we, as overseas voters, can help deliver them. Our votes from abroad have made the difference before, as they did for President Biden in Arizona and Georgia in 2020.

YOUR VOTE could be the margin of victory for Democratic candidates this November.

Information on Voting From Abroad

Please send your voted ballot back ASAP!

If you're a civilian abroad voting in AR, CT, GA, IA, ID, IL, KY, MD, MI, MN, MO, NH, NY, OH, PA, SD, TN, TX, VA, VT, WI, WY, you must return your ballot by mail or express courier. It is too late to use the diplomatic pouch at U.S. embassies and consulates!

All other states allow some form of secure electronic ballot return (email, fax, and/or online upload), which we strongly recommend over postal mail return.

Democrats Abroad has been able to secure courier discounts for the following countries: Austria, Canada, Ecuador, Estonia, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, and Turkey. Click on your country at the bottom of this page to learn more.

Still don't have a ballot?

We recommend to do two things immediately:

  1. Submit a new ballot request form via www.votefromabroad.org. If possible, please submit the request electronically, and on the form, mark that you would like to receive your ballot by email. Doing this will expedite the process.
  2. AND -- if you vote in one of the postal mail return only states listed above -- vote and return a Federal Absentee Write-in Ballot, also known as a FWAB or “Backup Ballot.” Details on the Backup Ballot can be found here: https://www.votefromabroad.org/faqs/BB1.

Please note that even if you vote and return a Backup Ballot, you should still vote and return your official ballot once you receive it. If both your official voted ballot and Backup Ballot reach your local election office in time, the official ballot will be counted and the Backup Ballot will be voided. If only the Backup Ballot arrives, that will be counted as your vote.

📣 SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT VOTING to family, friends, and co-workers who are U.S. or dual citizens. Let them know that you voted and that they should, too. Here’s a sample message:

"Hey [Name], hope you're well! I just voted and wanted to make sure that you also received and returned your ballot for the Nov 8 elections. Here to help if you have questions."

Stateside voters can check and update their voter registration at www.iwillvote.com. U.S. and dual citizens living abroad can use www.votefromabroad.org to register to vote, request a ballot, and get voter help. Here’s a helpful article from Teen Vogue about voting from abroad.

💲 DONATE to Democrats Abroad. Our final-push phonebanking, texting, and digital advertising programs targeted to battleground voters abroad cost us between $10,000-15,000 USD a day – but they’re worth every penny, especially when you think about the difference we’ve made in the past and can make again. Any bit you can contribute will go a long way!
