As we mark the 51st anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the Democrats Abroad Global Progressive Caucus stands in solidarity with millions of Americans who are seeing their rights stripped in right-wing attacks.
International experts have made clear: access to abortion and comprehensive, culturally respectful sexual and reproductive health care is a basic human right. The current right-wing assault on health care access is hitting Black, brown, and Indigenous women and LGBTQ+ people the hardest – the same communities that have faced the brunt of discriminatory U.S. policies for generations.
In 2024, we must elect candidates up and down the ballot who will boldly fight to expand our civil liberties, deliver on economic justice, and guarantee access to high-quality, affordable health care. We must pass the Women’s Health Protection Act and Medicare For All, as well as ensure reparatory justice for those who have seen their human rights systematically denied.
All people in America are entitled to the essentials of a good life. Together, we can create a better, more just world. Join us!
