Welcome to Democrats Abroad Sweden!
DA Sweden (DAS) is a proud member of Democrats Abroad, the official arm of the US Democratic Party for the estimated 9 million Americans living outside the United States. Its mission is to mobilize the overseas vote to elect Democratic candidates in all US elections. Democrats Abroad has 52 country committees throughout Europe, the Americas, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East and has active members in many other countries. It is the largest volunteer-driven organization of Americans living abroad.

For this year's important off-year elections in New Jersey, Virginia, and elsewhere as well as in the runup to next year's midterms, we are working to get out the vote from here in Sweden. If you have the time, we need volunteers to help register voters and remind those who already are registered to request their ballots. Democrats Abroad has a digital platform and training sessions that make this work efficient and easy to learn.
Democrats Abroad had a significant impact on last autumn's elections. Although we didn't achieve the results we wanted, that does not diminish our importance; and now we have pivoted to doing our part to stand up to the Trump regime. In the 2020 elections, Democrats Abroad provided the votes that put the Biden/Harris ticket over the top in Georgia, Arizona and Wisconsin. We can play that role again!
Please sign up for phone banking to help us reach fellow Democrats around the world and remind them to vote. It really works, so get involved. Your calls can be the difference!
DA Sweden’s chapters
DAS has active chapters in Skåne, Stockholm/Uppsala, Western Sweden, Västerbotten, and Götaland (including Östergötland). We're looking to organize local chapters in other parts of the country. We'd love your input if you want to help get a chapter off the ground closer to where you live. Contact DA Sweden today!

Get involved with issue advocacy
In addition to voter registration, we participate in Congressional advocacy on issues that matter to Americans abroad such as changing from citizenship- to residence-based taxation or making Medicare benefits available overseas.

DA has many global issue-based caucuses any DA member can join. DA Sweden currently has active members organizing events in two caucuses:
Getting involved with DA Sweden is a great way to meet like-minded Americans and enjoy social events, afterworks, movie screenings, live online chats with US political candidates, debate watches, and election-watch parties to see the returns roll in. Please join us at one of our local or virtual events or contact us to express your interest in volunteering or otherwise getting involved. We hope to hear from you soon!
