Janet Protasiewicz (JD, Marquette University School of Law, Milwaukee, Wisconsin)
“We must restore confidence that judges aren’t just trying to reach their favored outcomes, but actually applying the law and the constitution. I’m running to restore integrity to the Wisconsin Supreme Court, and get politics out of the courtroom.”
- elected to Milwaukee County Circuit Court (2014)
- received 46.4% of the vote in the judicial primary (in February)
- pro-choice, supports abortion rights and reproductive choice
- calls Republican-drawn legislative maps approved by the WI Supreme Court “rigged” (“They do not reflect people in this state.”)

** On April 4, Wisconsinites who vote in the 8th District (Brown, Calumet, Door, Kewaunee, Marinette, Menominee, Oconto, Outagamie, Shawano, Waupaca and part of Winnebago County) will also be voting to fill the Senate seat in their district. Jodi Habush Sinykin (D) is facing Dan Knodl (R) for the seat. If the GOP candidate wins the election, it will give Republicans a two-thirds majority in the Senate, which is enough votes to override gubernatorial vetoes and impeach civil officers.
