Online Political Deep Dive: How Do We Make Sense of the Polls?
DA Switzerland's Suisse Romande Chapter offers an Online session of our second deep-dive Political Forum, which explores How do we makes sense of the polls? After a popular and lively live session in Geneva June 6th, we open it to all chapters on June 19th via Zoom, to replace the cancelled Vevey live session.
The Media headline polls, commentators parse and analyze them, campaigns celebrate or dismiss them. Which are we to believe? With the 2024 election year in full swing, we would all love to know how to read the polls. And more generally, how to get a handle on predicting the November presidential election!
Bob Piller is a seasoned teacher and ardent politics follower. In this live online session, he will give a thorough presentation on the topic, taking questions and comments as he goes. As a participatory event, we recommend attendees come ready to give their views on the topic. Suggest: Look over recent polls, review polling success of earlier elections, and check polling-analysis sites like fivethirtyeight and RealClearPolitics.
The program should run about 2 hours.
