The Democratic Presidential Primary season is underway, and Democrats Abroad South Africa is bringing the primary to you!
Join us at our voting centre in Johannesburg (Sunninghill) on Sunday 10 March to cast your ballot in person in the Global Presidential Primary (GPP), Democrats Abroad’s presidential primary, or request your ballot and send it in via email or by postal mail (details below).
Just like all Democratic state parties, we – Democrats Abroad – have a say in the Democratic presidential nomination process! Based on votes cast in the GPP in South Africa and other countries around the world, Democrats Abroad will send 21 delegates to the Democratic National Convention in August.

You can vote in person on Sunday 10 March at our voting centre in Johannesburg (Sunninghill). Democrats Abroad allows same day registration, so walk-ins are welcome!

EMAIL OR POSTAL MAIL
We know Postal Mail is not used in South Africa but it is required as an option. Please use email to submit your primary ballot or, if in Joburg, vote in person.
Request your ballot: You may request your Democrats Abroad primary ballot on Votefromabroad.org or via a google form. Democrats Abroad South Africa members may also email [email protected] or call or text +27 81 859 5195 to receive a ballot by postal mail.
Return your ballot: You may return your voted ballot by email or postal mail beginning February 13th. Details to come!

Emailed voted ballots may be returned between February 13 and March 12.

Please email [email protected] or call or text +27 81 859 5195 for the postal address. Postal mailed voted ballots must be postmarked by March 12th and received no later than March 17th.
**Ballots downloaded and printed at home CANNOT be returned at our voting centre – we will have ballots available.
