Requesting Your 2024 State Ballots & Voting in the Democrats Abroad Global Presidential Primary

Did you know that the Democratic Presidential primary process involves not just the 50 states plus D.C., but also the territories and Democrats Abroad? As a result, we have the chance to run a Presidential primary every four years and cast votes in the Democratic National Convention which reflect the voting interests of Americans abroad.

Voting in the Global Primary gives us the opportunity to put Americans living outside the U.S. on the map – literally. This is a great opportunity to show the Democratic Party there are Americans around the world who are tuned in and voting from our countries. Vote, and help make sure South Africa is on the map this year!

The Democrats Abroad Global Presidential Primary (GPP) runs from March 5 to March 12, 2024. Only registered members of Democrats Abroad can vote in the GPP.

• Please note that voters abroad may only vote for President in one Primary election - either Democrats Abroad or your U.S. state primary election.

• If you participate in the DA primary, you may vote down the ballot in all other primary elections except the President.

Here is a quick How To Summary:

1. REQUEST YOUR BALLOTS - Everyone should go to https://www.votefromabroad.org/gpp/ to request your 2024 State Ballots (submit your FPCA) and your Democrats Abroad Presidential Primary Ballot – read the info and click the box that says “Start your ballot request”. One step for both. Make sure to get confirmation of receipt after its been sent.
   
   
2. EASIEST GPP OPTION - If you would like to vote in the Democrats Abroad Presidential Primary make sure you ticked that box on the Vote from Abroad process. Democrats Abroad will then send you an electronic ballot which is pre-filled with your info and very quick and easy to complete and submit.
   
   
3. If you would like to vote in the Democrats Abroad Presidential Primary but you didn’t tick the GPP boxon Vote from Abroad, you can request a ballot HERE
   
   
4. If you are in the Joburg area you are invited to vote in person and join our GPP & Family Day Event on Sunday 10 March, 12-4pm in Sunninghill. Please RSVP in advance so we can plan accordingly. For more info and to RSVP please CLICK HERE
   
   
5. Check your state-specific info at https://www.votefromabroad.org/states/ to note timeframes, rules and processes.
   
   
6. Your State Local Election Official will send you your state ballots ahead of primaries and elections.
