Message from the Chair

Dear VMF Colleagues:

We called, and you answered. With your help, Democrats across the country soundly defeated M.A.G.A.-extremist candidates and right-wing initiatives. VMF is grateful for our members who came through on the ballot – the peaceful way to enact reforms in the United States. I also hope every VMF member had a pleasant Veterans Day!

As we wrap up 2025, let’s celebrate our victories, but let’s also not forget the work we’ll need to do in 2026 to flip seats from red to blue in both Congress and in state legislatures. Remember, if Democrats gain the majority in either chamber of Congress next year – the House or the Senate – the MAGA agenda will crumble and appropriate congressional oversight of the Executive Branch will be restored. To get there, we need all hands on deck. You’ve registered with the VMF Caucus, but are you now ready to take the next step and get actively involved with us? Let me know: [email protected]

Democratically yours,

Michael Ramos

Legislative Updates

On November 10th, the U.S. Senate voted on legislation to end the government shutdown (until January 30, 2026), without a guarantee to address the skyrocketing healthcare prices imposed on the American people. On November 12th, the House of Representatives voted on the same bill. Click here to see how your Senators voted, and here to see how your Representative voted.
